On Quiet Trust and Honest Use
1) Why This Page Exists
Trust is the unseen ink that binds reader and writer.
This page explains what information we gather, how it is used, and how you can control it.
We keep only what helps Babylon Exit function well for those who visit.
2) What We Collect
We collect the smallest possible measure of data:
- Basic visit logs — anonymized analytics such as page views, referrers, and browser type.
These help us understand which tales are read, not who reads them. - Subscriptions — if you choose to subscribe or comment (when enabled), we store your email address for that purpose alone.
- Messages through Harken — notes you send via the contact form are received by email and kept only as long as needed to respond.
- Cookies — small text files used for login sessions, remembering preferences, and anonymous analytics.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
We do not profile visitors or run advertising trackers.
3) Cookies in Plain Speech
Most cookies we use are “essential,” meaning the site needs them to remember that you are logged in or subscribed.
A few may measure readership through privacy-respecting analytics (no invasive tracking).
You may disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still display, though subscriber or login functions may not work.
4) Email and Communication
If you subscribe, you may receive occasional updates about new tales or site news.
Each email includes a simple “unsubscribe” link that removes you from the list immediately.
We never send mass mail unrelated to Babylon Exit.
5) Data Rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to:
- access, correct, or delete your data,
- withdraw consent for communication,
- request a record of information held about you.
To make such a request, write through Harken and include the phrase Data Request in the subject.
6) Third-Party Services
Babylon Exit is hosted on Ghost(Pro).
Their secure infrastructure manages subscriptions and analytics in accordance with GDPR and CCPA standards.
Audio files, when present, may be hosted on Spotify / Anchor or similar platforms which maintain their own privacy policies.
7) Security
We use HTTPS encryption provided by Ghost and our domain host.
No system is flawless, yet we apply reasonable safeguards to protect correspondence and subscriber lists from unauthorized access.
8) Policy Changes
Minor adjustments may occur as the site grows.
Any significant change will be dated here and mentioned in a brief site note.

9) In Closing
We value quiet reading without intrusion.
Your presence here is never treated as a product but as fellowship around a shared flame.
